The Photographers Workgroup is a group of photographers that meet periodically to share their photography, work on improving their photographic skills, discuss various photographic topics, have their images critiqued, and participate in photographic assignments and projects.
The Workgroup meets nine times a year. The meetings include a lab period, discussion time, and a time to share and critique images. The “lab” time is meant for improving photographic skills and is a hands on, in the field session that includes camera techniques such as methods of exposure control, use of accessories, depth of field, composition, creative use of the shutter, and various processes in Photoshop.
Discussion will focus on the latest information available regarding photography, individual projects, sharing experiences, and planning future activities.
Critique will focus on improving each photographers ability to communicate their visual idea, their craft, and their Photoshop skills as reflected in the projected image and in their print enlargements. Students will submit both electronic images for projection and print enlargements of their photography. Images presented for critique will include images from photo assignments and personal photography.
Meetings will be held from 1:00pm to 5:30pm on Sundays. Most meetings will be held at the Highlands Recreational Center in Bishop. There will be two meetings in Mammoth as noted below. (Mammoth meeting location is TBA.) The following are the meeting dates for 2009/2010:
